Local Government Spending Transparency

Since unveiling the South Carolina Spending Transparency Web Site for state government in 2008, Comptroller Richard Eckstrom has expanded the transparency campaign to include local governments. He's encouraging cities, towns, counties and school districts to post their expenditures on the Web.

Currently, more than a local governments have signed up as "pioneers" of this local government transparency initiative:
